I do not usually do this but today feel the need to link another blog. I think it is an amazing post.
I read this piece on Brad Ruggles site earlier and the story just miffed me to say the least. Actually it angered me some what. How dare this person do this? How can he not realize what he is doing to Christians all over the world by doing this? (Not Brad by the way…the topic of the post)
After reading this piece I want your feedback. Theres A Monster At The End Of This Post
How does this make you feel as a Christian? Are you angry or sad? How should we deal with these situations? How does a church heal from something like this?
Let me know and thanks Brad for an awesome piece.

This really was a tough situation and it helped for me to put my thoughts down on screen so I could process it.
The key here is extending the same grace to people who fail that was given so freely to us. This grace isn’t a license to keep screwing up (Paul talks about that in Romans) but is instead a promise that God loves us despite our shortcomings, not because of how much we measure up.

@bradruggles…Great point.
Is it human nature that we just do not seem to learn from these kind of things? What always makes me a bit curious is that you see something like this and a few weeks later someone else gets caught for the same thing.. Mind boggling.
I probably need to revisit my feelings on this a bit. I think I now feel really sorry for this guy. His lapse in judgement will haunt him for a very long time and it is sad because he is filled with talent and could be a great messenger.
I pray that others see and learn, forgive and don’t repeat.

These situations are always tough. I definitely don’t relish in someone else’s fall, but it does help me in two ways…
1) Check my own walk.
2) Understand grace and forgiveness just a little bit better.
